Pele edges Beacons in Georgetown Football League

Pele remained atop the standings in the Georgetown Football Association Senior Men’s League, squeaking past defending champion Beacons 2-1 on Saturday night at the Guyana Football Federation National Training Centre in Providence.

Pele’s conversions emanated off the boot of Orlando Lovell, who recorded a brace. For the loser, Antwoine Vincent netted.

Meanwhile, Black Pearl climbed into second place as they defeated the Northern Rangers 1-0. Jamal Braithwaite recorded the only conversion of the contest.

Vengy dismantled Order & Discipline 3-0. The trio of Angel Hines, Franciso Hernandez, and David Escobar found the back of the net in the 38th, 54th, and 85th minutes, respectively.
