Have a national conversation on sugar

Dear Editor,

I am a child of sugar. Providence and Peter’s Hall estates 1950-61. As the industry enters what looks like the intensive care ward, should there not be a frank and honest national discussion about this once great cornerstone of the Guyanese economy? Better still an action plan to get it out of the mire if that is at all possible. The status quo is not an option. I am firing the starting gun for both.

Sincerely,

John ‘Bill Cotton/Reform’ Mair
