Caribbean Elite Cycling Championships
The Guyana Cycling Federation (GCF) yesterday evening announced the team that will be representing the Golden Arrowhead at the Caribbean Elite Cycling Championships set for local shores from November 9th-10th of this year.
Leading Guyana’s charge will be the Johns, two of Guyana’s best cyclists in recent times, Briton and Jamual. Briton has been the number one cyclist in Guyana for the past few years, and he is widely expected to make an impact at the event, while Jamual is highly talented and making a comeback into the upper echelons of the sport in Guyana.
The other members of the seven-man squad are Christopher Griffith, Cortis Dey, Kwame Ridley, Aaron Newton, and Segun Hubbard.
In a statement to the media, the GCF noted, “These talented cyclists have demonstrated exceptional dedication, skill, and consistent performance in the sport of cycling. Their selection is a testament to their hard-work and commitment, and we are confident they will represent Guyana with distinction on the Caribbean stage.”
“The Caribbean Elite Cycling Championships will feature young cyclists from across the region competing in the time trial and road race. This competition not only highlights the athletic prowess of the participants but also promotes camaraderie and sportsmanship among the elites of the Caribbean,” the release concluded.
