Siland defeats Arjune in the Rebel Junior Tennis Championship

Samara Siland defeated Nandica Arjune by a 2-0 score when the 5th edition of the Rebel Junior Lawn Tennis Championship commenced yesterday at the GBTI Diamond Court, East Bank Demerara.

Siland stormed to a 1-0 advantage as she prevailed in the first set 4/2. She then sealed the result following a 4/1 victory in the second set.

The event continues today with a fixture in the Boy’s U-12 division. Ryan Persaud is slated to oppose Michael Fordyce at 16:30hrs.

The tournament will also continue on Friday with a tripleheader at the same venue. In the Boy’s U-18 division, Gerald Scotland will oppose Akil Semple at 15:00hrs, while Kimora Erskine will battle Melissa Goodman in the Girl’s U-18 section at 16:00hrs. The final fixture will pit Hayden Chan against Fordyce in the Boy’s U-12 section at 16:45hrs.
