Defending champion Cornelia Ida, Windsor Forest, and West Demerara Legends recorded lopsided wins when the West Demerara Cricket Association sanctioned GH Renovations T20 Championship resumed.

CI mauled Belle Vue by 182 runs. Batting first, CI amassed a mammoth 250/6. Akshaya Persaud led the rout with 97, which included 13 maximums and two boundaries. The next best scorers were Ushadavera Balgobin, who tallied 47 runs [4x6s, 3x4s], and Shaaid Vieira, who tallied 41 [2x6s, 2x4s].

Thaddeus Lovell and Akib Mullin supported with 26 [3x6s] and 20 [3x6s], respectively. Robin Seecharran was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2-30. In response, Belle Vue were skittled for 68 in 13.4 overs. Dayal Rajpat offered resistance as he top scored with 20 [2x6s], with Devon Harris and Yodesh Sumintra the next best scorers with 15 and 14 runs, respectively. Mullin led the bowling effort with 2-6, while the duo of Aryan Persaud and Richie Looknauth chipped in with 2-12 and 2-20, respectively.

Likewise, Windsor Forest defeated the Rising Stars by six wickets. Batting first, the Rising Stars were bundled out for 72 in a reduced 10-over contest. Toney Smith top scored with 29 runs [2x6s, 2x4s]. Kishaun Tracey was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4-17, while Killon Tracy snared 3-18.

Windsor Forest in reply finished on 73/4 in 9.1 overs. Deoram Chanderbir scored 20 [4x4s], while Abdullah Wazidali chipped in with an unbeaten 18 [1×6, 1×4]. Nicosie Major was the primary threat with the ball for the eventual loser as he snared 2-24. Similarly, West Demerara Legends defeated Windsor Forest Vipers by eight wickets in a reduced 10-over fixture. Batting first, the Vipers unit could only muster a score of 57/5 in their allotment. Ahmad Wazidali top scored with 22 runs [2x6s, 1×4].

3-12 compliments of a hat-trick, while Cornel Sobers assisted with 2-10. The Legends, in response, finished on 59/2 in eight overs. Troy Benn smashed his way to an unbeaten 33 [2x6s, 2x4s].

Meanwhile, Zeelugt Sports Club defeated fierce rival Cold Fusion via the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method. Batting first, Cold Fusion scored 54/5 in 10 overs. Mark Gonsalves scored 25 runs [3x4s, 1×6]. Rajin Chrismotie led the bowling effort with 2-3, while Gowkaran Rankin assisted with 2-20.

In response, Zeelugt smashed their way to 30/1 in 2.1 overs before rain intervened. At the time of the stoppage, Zeelugt was ahead of the par score, resulting in their victory. Tameshwar Dass scored an unbeaten 27 [3x6s, 2x4s].

Also, VNS Sports Club defeated All Youths by 15 runs. Batting first, VNS scored 128/9 in their allotted overs, with Bernard Lewis leading the effort with 48 runs [5x6s, 4x4s]. Aditya Kadarnauuth was the next best scorer with 35 runs [2x6s, 1×4]. Navindra Persaud was the primary threat with the ball, as he recorded 3-15, while Shahid Haniff tallied 2-13.

In response, All Youths were bundled out 113 in 17 overs. Ramesh Thakur amassed a game-high 60 runs [2x6s, 3x4s] in a losing effort. The next best scorer was Kishan Ramjaram with 21 runs. For VNS, Lewis was the pick of the bowlers with 3-17, while Mohan Chaitram supported with 2-9.  The event continues on Sunday with another round of matches.
