(CMC) – Following his outstanding performance in the recently concluded Test series against South Africa, West Indies fast bowler Jayden Seales has been named as a nominee for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for August.
Seales was nominated along with South African spinner Keshav Maharaj and Sri Lankan all-rounder Dunith Wellalage.
The 22-year-old Seales achieved the recognition after taking 12 wickets in the two-match series against South Africa, which the visitors won 1-0.

He grabbed a career-best 6-61 in the second innings of the drawn second Test in Guyana, where he finished with nine wickets.
It was Seale’s second five-wicket haul in his 15th Test match and propelled him up to number 13 in the ICC Men’s Test Bowling rankings. He is the highest-rated West Indies bowler in the rankings.
Maharaj, who also took part in the Test series, was named Player of the Series after finishing with 13 wickets.
Meanwhile, Wellalage made it to the shortlist based on his performances in the ODI series against India, which Sri Lanka won 2-0.
The left-hander was named Player of the Series after scoring 67 not out, 39, and two. He also finished with seven wickets, including a five-wicket haul.
