Veersammy assured the FFP that the donated items would go a long way to aid in the comfort of persons seeking refuge. The hospital beds are retractable, thus aiding in the ease of feeding and dressing the patients. In addition to these services, psychiatric evaluations, and counseling are provided.

Food for the Poor’s Gifts-in-Kind Manager, Tabitha Barnwell, underlined the importance of working with the Night Shelter to bring comfort to citizens who rely on the support. Some of the items donated are hospital beds, walkers, wheelchairs, microwaves, paint, pampers, and furniture for staff.

CEO, FFP Andrea Benjamin, stated the importance of the night shelter as it provides critical services for the most vulnerable seeking shelter. “We are here today as part of our mandate to continue to support the most vulnerable in our society and we know that the Night Shelter provides critical services for the most vulnerable.
