Beacons climbed into second position in the Georgetown Football Association Senior Men’s League, squeaking past Camptown 4-3 on Friday night at the Guyana Football Federation National Training Centre in Providence.

Beacons opened the scoring in the second minute via a Manasseh Primo conversion. The lead proved to be short-lived as Oho Jones equalised one minute later for Camptown.

The Campbellville unit then seized the lead in the 22nd minute as Anthony Sancho found the back of the net. The score remained unchanged heading into the halftime interval.

Upon the resumption, Antwoine Vincent restored parity to proceedings for Beacons with a 54th-minute strike. Camptown responded in the form of Jones, who completed his brace in the 65th minute to restore his team’s lead at 3-2.

Nonetheless, two goals in the space of a minute secured the come-from-behind win for Beacons. Primo levelled the contest as he secured his brace in the 69th minute, before veteran forward Anthony Abrams clinched the result with a 70th-minute conversion.

Meanwhile, Vengy and Riddim Squad battled to a 1-1 stalemate. Following a score-less first half period, Vengy broke the deadlock in the form of Carlos Escobar, who netted in the 66th minute. However, Riddim Squad would earn a share of the spoil, as Sceyon Hope netted in the 69th minute.
