Golden Stars of Golden Grove defeated Melanie by a 1-0 score when the East Coast Demerara Senior Men’s League continued on Friday evening at the Buxton Community Centre ground.
The contest was settled in the dying moments of the contest as Travis Williams scored in the 83rd minute.
An initial strike following a cross from the right side was parried by the goalkeeper into the onrushing path of Williams, who uncorked a thunderous strike at the top of the 18-yard area, which settled into the back of the net.
Meanwhile, Victoria Kings and Beterverwagting (BV)/Triumph played to a scoreless affair.
