NA hospital doctor sustains head injuries in accident

A doctor attached to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital is now seriously hospitalized with head injuries after she was struck by a lorry outside of the hospital yesterday.

The accident involved Elizabeth Albares Nabaro, a Venezuelan, 32, a Doctor at the New Amsterdam Public Hospital attached to the Accident and Emergency Unit who resides at the Doctor’s Quarters located directly on the opposite side of the hospital along the main road and motor lorry # GAG 9366 owned by Clive Mangal of Essex Street, New Amsterdam Berbice, and driven by Orin Archibald, 35, of Timmers Dam, Angoy’s Avenue New Amsterdam, Berbice.

Based on information gathered, the accident happed around 7.50 am yesterday while Nabaro was attempting to cross the road from the hospital to the doctor’s quarters using the pedestrian crossing located outside of the hospital.
