The Guyana Post Office Corporation (GPOC) yesterday alerted the public to fake Guyana stamps in circulation.

The stamps feature US President Joe Biden and US presidential candidate Donald Trump. One stamp shows Trump behind bars. Another depicts him in the moments following the recent assassination attempt against him. A third proclaims that Biden has COVID-19.

“As the official body responsible for issuing postage stamps in Guyana, the Guyana Post Office Corporation stresses that any stamp not officially released by the Corporation is considered unauthorized and should not be advertised or marketed for sale or otherwise by or on behalf of GPOC, Guyana or the Government of Guyana. We strongly advise collectors and the general public to exercise caution and verify the authenticity of any stamps before use”, a statement from the GPOC said.

The GPOC said that it is actively investigating this issue.
