Guyana’s winless run at the 45th edition of the Chess Olympiad in Budapest, Hungary, continued as both the women’s and men’s teams incurred defeats in the Open Division.
The women’s team lost their second encounter 1-3 to Palestine. Aditi Joshi recorded the only win for the Guyanese in the event, as she bested Yara Faqeeh in the third round. However, Guyana has recorded losses in the first, second, and fourth stanza.
Jessica Callender went down to Eman Sawan in the first round, while Sasha Shariff lost to Taqwa Hamouri in the second fixture. Desiree Clement lost in the fourth round to Wajd Natsheh.
