Dear Editor,
A few days ago, I encouraged a friend in Guyana to get a colon-oscopy, as I was preparing for mine. He expressed fear about the procedure, which I completely understood. Yesterday, I had my colonoscopy done, and they removed four polyps. I am incredibly grateful that these were discovered early. Thankfully, the exam was painless, and the drink they gave me to prepare wasn’t nearly as unpleasant as it was the last time.
We all know someone who is battling cancer. That is why I want to encourage everyone to stay on top of their annual physicals and, if you haven’t already, schedule your colonoscopy.
Fear can be more dangerous than the illness itself. Men and women alike, don’t let fear stop you—get your screenings done today.
Yours faithfully,
Anthony Pantlitz
