A network component that enables the 20 megavolt-amperes (MVA) transformer to function at the Guyana Power and Light’s (GPL’s) Edinburgh Substation, West Coast Demerara has been severely damaged. Urgent repairs to this damaged component is required to ensure continued service to customers, GPL said in a statement yesterday.
To facilitate repairs, a service interruption is scheduled for today, Sunday, September 15, 2024.
The service interruption will affect customers from Hague to Edinburgh, Leonora to Naamryck, Tuschen and Meten-Meer- Zorg from 08:00 hrs to 12 noon.
