Airy Hall and Buxton Stars maintained their respective perfect records following comfortable wins when the East Coast Demerara Senior Men’s League continued on Friday night at the Buxton Community Centre ground.

Airy Hall overcame a one goal deficit to defeat Melanie 3-1. Romel Samuel recorded the only conversion in the first half as he found the back of the net in the 33rd minute for Melanie.

However, three goals in the space of 12 minutes secured the come-from-behind win for Airy Hall. Jason Ronaldo restored parity to proceedings as he etched his name on the score-sheet in the 54th minute.

Eion Abel pushed Airy Hall into the lead as he made his presence felt four minutes onward. The come-from-behind win was then sealed in the 66th minute as Lorenzo Halley scored.

Due to the outcome, Airy Hall maintains their grip atop the summit of the standings with 15 points from five games, while Melanie remains in eighth place on a point.

Similarly, Buxton Stars blanked the Mahaicony Lions 2-0. Neil Hutson crafted the only goal of the first stanza via a penalty conversion following an infraction inside the 18-yard box in the 24th minute.

The win was then sealed in the 79th minute as Nickini Daniels lashed his effort past the opposing custodian.

With the result, Buxton solidify their place in second position as they climb onto 12 points. On the other hand, Mahaicony remain in fourth place on eight points.
