Pele extended their lead atop the standings in the Georgetown Football Association Senior Men’s League, squeaking past Order & Discipline by a 3-2 score at the Guyana Football Federation National Training Centre in Providence.
Joshua Bentick broke the deadlock for Pele in the 21st minute. Bentick then doubled their lead as he sealed his brace four minutes later. However, Ishmael Glen reduced the deficit to 1-2 as he etched his name on the score-sheet in the 32nd minute. The score remained unchanged entering the halftime interval.
Upon the resumption, Order & Discipline restored parity to proceedings in the form of Glen, who completed his double in the 51st minute. Nonetheless, any hopes of a come from behind win were extinguished as veteran defender Solomon Austin made his presence felt with a 61st-minute strike.
