Armed men rob Rose Hall housewife of jewellery, cell phones

Police are investigating an armed robbery committed on Anita Fraser, a 48-year-old housewife of Lot 4 ‘B’ Rose Hall, Corentyne, Berbice, on Saturday at about 20:40 hrs.

According to a police press release, the suspects were five masked men, one armed with a handgun and four with knives. The police said they were told that Fraser was at home with her family when they heard dogs barking outside. The housewife told police that her husband, Arthur Fraser, a 64-year-old farmer, ventured outside and the five bandits entered her house. She was relieved of a quantity of jewellery, a Nokia cellphone valued $70,000, a Motorola cell phone valued $10,000 and a Blu cell phone without sim valued $15,000, the release said. The men then escaped on foot.
