Martin Calvin, a 30-year-old from Lot 10 East Ruimveldt, Georgetown, yesterday pleaded guilty to armed robbery and was sentenced to five years imprisonment.
The police said in a statement that Calvin was arrested on Saturday and charged yesterday with the armed robbery of a 30-year-old female resident of Windsor Forest, West Coast Demerara on 2024-09-13.
The accused appeared before Magistrate Alisha George at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court. The charge was read to him, the Administration of Justice Act for Summary Disposal was granted and applied, and he pleaded guilty. He was sentenced to five years imprisonment.
