The South Rupununi District Council (SRDC) is mourning the passing of Maxie Pugsley, former Toshao of Sand Creek.
In a statement, it said that his remarkable contributions to the SRDC and the Wa Wiizi Wa Kaduzu study have left a profound and lasting impact on the community.
In the 2000s, it said that Pugsley’s vision and relentless dedication were crucial in the development of the Wa Wiizi Wa Kaduzu study.
“His work went far beyond his professional responsibilities; he was a true beacon of inspiration, demonstrating how passion and perseverance can foster meaningful change”, it said.
