Dear Editor,
The mysterious illness of the presiding magistrate in the elections fraud cases has postponed the trial by another forty- five days to October 31. Attrition in tandem with frustration will lead to all kinds of conclusions and a stained mark on the judiciary which has allowed this situation to manifest and fester for four years.
The judiciary must take control of its sagging image, in this regard, and assign the cases to another magistrate now, in the interest of justice and fairness. Anything less can be deemed an abdication of responsibility which can have its own interpretation.
Is the judicial system failing the citizens?
Sincerely,
Shamshun Mohamed
