At approximately 3:27 pm yesterday, machinery owned by AJM Enterprise came into contact with GPL’s L2 Transmission Line at Dumpsite Road, EBD, resulting in a widespread outage in the Demerara-Berbice Interconnected System.
The Guyana Power and Light (GPL) in a statement yesterday reminded contractors who wish to work close to the company’s network to contact GPL at 226 2600 or 0475 at least 72 hours before commencing work.
Contractors who damage the company’s network will be held responsible for the cost of repairs, it said.
