Several police officers were among a number of stakeholders who yesterday attended a sensitisation exercise to discuss and plan an alternative road route (Noitgedacht Road and Washing Pond) for motorists and commuters ahead of the commencement of work on the new Mackenzie/Wismar Bridge Project.

A release from the police said that the  meeting was held at the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) car park in Linden.

Among those in attendance were the Mayor of Linden Sharma Solomon, Deputy Mayor Dominique Blair, Deputy Police Commander A. Anthony, Sub-Division Officer #2 Assistant Superintendent  C Primus, Inspector R. Liverpool and engineers from China Railway Construction Company.

The Mayor expressed his concerns about flooding in the area, traffic management and the angle of the road to facilitate the new route.

The Deputy Commander noted the concerns the Mayor and Engineer raised, the release said.
