Two statements with different outcomes

Dear Editor,

If no sugar was missing, but rather overstated, why was it necessary to fire the two employees?  Why were they not disciplined by other means? The termination seems harsh. The case brings to mind the oil and gas matter where expenses were reduced in the audit.  There were no firings. So in one case overstatement was done, while the other it was understatement, with different outcomes.

Sincerely,

Shamshun Mohamed
