St. Pius, Enterprise, Redeemer to highlight tomorrow’s opening round

Pee Wee U-11 Football Championship

The Petra Organisation, the coordinators of the Pee Wee Boy’s U-11 Football Championship, conducted a team briefing and ball distribution exercise yesterday for the competing teams at the National Library ahead of the event’s kickoff tomorrow at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

Redeemer will oppose Potaro at 11:00hrs in the opening match, while Georgetown International Academy will oppose Marian Academy, Golden Grove will battle Tapakuma Lake, and Batavia will engage All Saints at 12:00hrs.

At 13:00hrs, Genesis will take aim at St. John the Baptist, with Smith Memorial battling Rosignol and Belladrum opposing Sophia. Defending champion St. Pius will match skills with St. Mary, while Leonora will face-off against Anns Grove, and Santa Rosa will lock horns with One Mile at 14:00hrs.

North Georgetown will then match skills with Tuschen, while Tucville will tackle Winfer Gardens, and St. Gabriel’s will oppose Timehri at 15:00hrs. In the final three matches, Colaaco will match skills School of the Nations, while Den Amstel will oppose West Ruimveldt, and Enterprise will tackle F.E. Pollard at 16:00hrs.

Meanwhile, Sterling Products Limited joined the growing list of sponsors to support the tournament. Troy Mendonca, Co-Director of the Petra Organisation, thanked the company for their continued support of the event, which has morphed into a major platform for players who eventually transition to the national programme.

Dellon Lynch, Marketing Manager of Sterling Products Ltd., said that the company is pleased to once again be involved with the tournament, adding that the entity views the development of youths as a vital part of its corporate social responsibility.
