The Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA) recently held a two-day First Aid & CPR training session with 12 creek operators and water-based activity providers from the Soesdyke-Linden Highway.
According to a post on its Facebook page, GTA said the session was part of a series of training and technical support it provides to ensure that these personnel are properly equipped to safely host people at their establishments.
Led by Melissa Alstrom, participants were required to take part in a mandatory practical examination to test their understanding of the concepts presented and their ability to respond in real-life emergency situations, the post said.
