Halliburton submits sole bid for data repository

United States-based oil services company Halliburton has submitted the lone bid to provide Guyana with a repository for its data on exploration and production.

Bids for the contract, under the procuring entity the Ministry of Natural Resources, were to be opened last week Thursday and Halliburton’s was the only one with a cost figure of US$1.8 million.

The table below, taken from NPTAB’s website, shows the company’s bid.

When Minister of Natural Resources Vickram Bharrat last month held a mid-year press conference, he had informed that seismic and other data were not stored here but through third parties and this country saw it prudent to have a data repository of its own, as it would not only create jobs but the information could be sold to companies looking at investing here.
