Campbellville Street-ball Championship
It was a night of upsets as Back Circle A and Stabroek Ballers were eliminated at the quarterfinal round in the inaugural edition of the Campbellville Village Cup Street-ball Championship on Saturday.
Back Circle A went down 0-1 to Street Vybz, while Stabroek Ballers fell to Team Cruel by a 0-2 score. Meanwhile, North East La Penitence squeaked past Back Circle B by a 2-1 score on penalty kicks following a scoreless regulation time interval.
On the other hand, Z-Tekk Family squeaked past Red Force 2-1 on sudden death penalty kicks after regulation time ended scoreless. .
The semifinal round will occur on Thursday at the same venue, with the final pencilled for the 28th. The winner of the event will receive $300,000 and the championship trophy, while the second, third, and fourth-place finishers will pocket $150,000, $75,000, and $25,000, respectively, and the corresponding accolade.
