Banks DIH honours 20 students with bursary awards

Twenty recent National Grade Six Assessment pupils were each awarded with a 5-year bursary by local conglomerate, Banks DIH Limited.

According to a release on Wednesday by the company, the awards were part of its efforts in investing in youth development and were distributed on August 24 at a ceremony held at Banks DIH headquarters at Thirst Park, Ruimveldt, Georgetown.

The Bursary Awards programme, the release explained, provides valuable financial assistance to students who have displayed exceptional dedication to their studies. The awardees are the top 20 high-performing candidates whose names were submitted by employees (10) and shareholders (10). They are: Ethan Bassoo, Misha Holder, Nikisha Allen, Thaddeus Siebs, Gavianna Mohan, Xavi Bishop, Roquan Enniss, Mya Greaves, Z’Caria Henry, Alexander Fox, Ariel Hamer, Kalila McIntosh, Andrea Denny, Aenea Wilburg, Thanuja Tiwari, Isabella Arjoon, Angelina Fields, Joel Payne, Rebecca Cameron, and Joshua Singh. Attendees at the awards ceremony included Operations and Engineering Director Gavin Todd, Engineering Services Director Mohamed Hussein, Human Resources Executive Sharon Nelson, along with other executives, the awardees, and their parents, the release said.

Todd, who gave the feature address, extended congratulations to the students and encouraged them to continuously strive for excellence, the release said. He also assured them of the company’s commitment to contribute to their future growth and development.
