Nikita Fagundes, a 58-year-old taxi driver from Fourth Avenue, Bartica, appeared in the Bartica Magistrate Court yesterday morning before Magistrate Tariq Mohamed, where he pleaded guilty to three charges including being an unlicenced driver.
The police said in a release that Fagundes was charged with refusal of consent to take a breathalyzer test, being an unlicensed driver and breach of insurance.
He pleaded guilty to all the charges and was fined $20,000 (or three months imprisonment) on the breathalyzer test, $5000 for being an unlicenced driver (or two weeks imprisonment) and $25,000 for breach of insurance (or two weeks imprisonment).
