RUBIS supplies Kuru Kuru Primary pupils with uniforms, backpacks

The new school term is a lot brighter for 38 Kuru Kuru Primary School pupils who have been outfitted with new school uniforms and backpacks, compliments of Team RUBIS.

In a release, RUBIS Retail Accounts Executive Joylyn Johnson said the back-to-school contribution valued at $ 429,000 would have multiple positive impacts.

She noted that the most vital of those impacts would be helping reduce the absenteeism that results from pupils not having uniforms in good condition for attending school. She said the donation was also part of RUBIS’ longstanding commitment to providing relief to vulnerable groups and communities.

“This gesture was borne out of observations made last year when we engaged with the school. There was clearly a need for greater help, and we responded. While we know the outfits will make them comfortable, the overarching objective is to eliminate absenteeism from school due to a lack of uniforms,” Johnson said. After receiving the donation, Carla Hinds offered a heartfelt thank you to RUBIS on behalf of the school, students, and  parents.
