Two women charged with attempted murder of vendor

Two women were yesterday charged with attempting to murder a food vendor who in turn was charged with assaulting them.

The trio appeared before two Georgetown Magistrates and they were placed on bail after pleading not guilty to their charges.

Onecia Warrick, 24, and Maryann Allicock, 32, both of Lot 3421 Stevedore Housing Scheme, were both placed on $150,000 bail each by acting Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty. The two were arrested on September 19, 2024, and charged with attempted murder after they allegedly attacked 36-year-old food vendor Randell Dowding on September 1, 2024, in North Ruimveldt, Georgetown. They will return to court on October 16th 2024.

Dowding in turn was charged with two counts of assault and he appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

Dowding was accused of unlawfully assaulting Allicock and Warrick at Lot 3421 Stevedore on September 1, 2024. He pleaded not guilty to both charges. The prosecution did not oppose bail but requested that Dowding have no contact with the complainants. He was granted bail of $35,000 on the first charge and $50,000 for the second. The matter was adjourned.
