Twenty residents of Massara and Toka villages in North Rupununi, Region Nine, yesterday celebrated their certification in General Building Construction and Welding and Fabrication training programmes.

In Massara, ten residents—five males and five females—successfully completed the General Building Construction programme, a release from the Ministry of Labour said. Meanwhile, in Toka, another ten residents—seven males and three females—graduated from the Welding and Fabrication course.

This achievement is a first for both villages and was made possible through the Board of Industrial Training (BIT), under the guidance of Minister of Labour Joseph Hamilton, the release said.
