Dear Editor,
It was a sorry story, the six-hour-long blackout at the Palms (KN September 24), with posts abandoned by staff; no water running in the facility and inmates left to fend for themselves for hours.
Further it was lamented that the backup generator has been down for months.
Authorities were aware of issues but it seems the will is not there to address them.
So senior citizens left at the mercy of the state.
