Pan American Hockey Challenge
Guyana’s unbeaten run in the Pan American Hockey Federation Challenge continued as they contested a 1-1 stalemate against hosts Bermuda yesterday at the National Sports Centre.
The Guyanese scored first in the contest in the form of Sarah Klautky, who finished off a neatly worked penalty corner in the 12th minute.
However, the Bermudans would equalise in the 32nd minute in the form of Georgia Harris to earn a share of the spoils. Due to the outcome, Guyana climbs onto five points but remains in third place. Guyana will end their group campaign against Mexico.
To date, Guyana has defeated Brazil 1-0 and played to a scoreless draw with Paraguay. Following the completion of the pool round, teams will then be seeded and participate in placement matches for fifth and sixth, the bronze medal match, and the final, all of which are scheduled for Saturday, September 28.
