-Figueira says gov’t will provide roofing sheets
A severe storm swept through Linden on Tuesday night, leaving a trail of destruction and flooding across multiple communities and APNU+AFC MP for Region 10 Jermaine Figueira last evening said that the government will be providing roofing sheets and local contractors will help with repairs.
Figueira, who has had increasingly tense ties with his party the PNCR and has been working along with the government, said in a statement that he and two ministers toured the affected areas yesterday.
The MP said that he led a team of local stakeholders which was accompanied by Minister of Public Works, Juan Edghill and Minister of Local Government, Sonia Parag to assess the damage and provide immediate support to the households impacted.
