Preparation for the staging of the 51st Central America & Caribbean (CAC) Bodybuilding & Fitness Championship in October is on course, according to a press release from the local governing body, the Guyana Body Building & Fitness Federation (GBBF).
The release stated that several weekly meetings and engagements have been conducted with the relevant stakeholders to ensure that all systems are in place for the smooth execution of the event.
The competition, which will be staged from October 17th-20th at the National Cultural Centre on Mandela and Homestretch Avenues, is slated to feature in excess of 250 competitors from more than 20 nations.
According to the release from the GBBF, the entity has been meeting weekly with relevant stakeholders to ensure that all systems are in place to execute the event in keeping with the high standards expected by the CAC and IFBB Bodies.
In an effort to garner governmental assistance, the GBBF has conducted meetings with the Minister of Culture, Youth & Sport Charles Ramson Jr. and Director of Sport Steve Ninvalle. The GBBF has also conducted engagements with the management of the National Cultural Centre.
“These weekly engagements are in addition to those held with the CAC and IFBB executives, which are primarily focused on analysing Guyana’s preparedness while advising on logistical issues and expectations”, the release stated.
