West Meten-Meer-Zorg, Rising Stars, Wales, and Canal #2 secured victories when the West Demerara Cricket Association sanctioned GH Renovations T20 Championship continued.
West Meten-Meer-Zorg dismantled the West Bank Youths by nine wickets. Batting first, the West Bank Youths were skittled for a paltry 68 in 18.1 overs. Tamesh Persaud was the only batsman in doubles figures with 13 runs, as Udesh Seetaram led the bowling effort with figures of 3-14.
Chipping in with 2-11 was Pameshwar Ram, while Jermaine Joseph chipped in with 2-1. In response, the hosts stormed to 69/1 in 6.5 overs. Sheldon Alexander top scored with 34 [5x4s, 1×6].
Similarly, Rising Stars defeated Sawpit by five wickets.
Taking first strike, Sawpit was dismissed for 121 in 17 overs. Mahendra Jailall top scored with 34 [1×4, 3x6s], while Shivram Mahase was the next best scorer with 16 runs.
Marvin Cheong was the primary threat with the ball as he snared 4-37 in his four-over spell. He was supported by Shaquille Brisport, who tallied 2-15 in 2.1 overs, as the remaining wickets were shared between the other bowlers.
In reply, the Rising Stars successfully overhauled the score after finishing on 122/5 compliments of an unbeaten innings from Toney Smith, who scored 45 [3x4s, 3x6s]. Supporting with 19 runs apiece were the duo of Elroy Fernandes [2x6s] and Travis Cato [2x4s, 1×6].
Mahendra Jailall was the pick of the bowlers for the eventual loser, as he registered 2-26.
Likewise, Wales defeated La Grange by 118 runs. Batting first, Wales recorded an impressive 152 all out in their allotment. Randy Yenkana led the batting effort with 37 runs [3x4s, 2x6s]. He was supported by Kevin Roberts and All Charles, who chipped in with 19 runs, respectively.
For the bowlers, Saif Persaud tallied 3-26 in his four-over allocation, with Jhadesh Persaud recording the next best bowling figure with 2-24. Supporting with 2-39 was Tyron Carrington. In reply, La Grange was skittled for 34, as seven batsmen failed to score. Extra was the highest scorer for the eventual loser with 14.
The wickets were shared between the quartet of Kevin Lindo, Allan Charles, Colin Bucher, and Daniel Roberts. Wales skipper Lindo snared 3-12 in three overs, while Charles recorded 3-7 during his three-over spell. Roberts tallied 2-14 in three overs, with Boucher snaring 1-1 in two overs.
Meanwhile, Canal #2 defeated the Royal Strikers by 21 runs. Opting to bat first, Canal #2 was dismissed for 135. Vishwanauth Jadunauth top scored with 29 runs, while the next best score of 22 runs was recorded by Navindra Ragnauth.
Altaf Khan led the bowling effort for the Royal Strikers, as he recorded 4-35 in four overs, while Mahase Sukdeo provided capable support with figures of 2-22 in his four-over spell.
In response, the Royal Strikers were bundled out for 114 in their allotment. Sanjeev Ramdeen top scored in the chase with 27 runs, with Safraz Khan the next best scorer with 24. Chipping in with 15 runs was Ameen Samad.
On the bowling front, Shazam Ramjohn claimed 2-9 in his two overs.

Over at the Zeelugt ground, Royal Strikers will oppose Leonora at 9:30am, while WF Centre will match skills with the home side at 1:30pm.
At the Belle Vue facility, the McGill All-Stars will face off against CICC at 9:30am, with the home side battling the Vipers at 1:30pm.
Meanwhile, West Coast Warriors and West Demerara Legends will lock horns at 9:30am at the Meten-Meer-Zorg ground, with the hosts opposing Goed Fortuin in the second encounter at 1:30pm.
