A new player has entered Guyana’s bustling fast food sector and it’s making waves across Georgetown. GangBao, a Chinese fast-food chain that began operations earlier this year, has quickly established itself as a go-to destination. Despite its recent entry into the market, the chain has already expanded to four locations, with the original branch located on Sheriff Street, and new branches at D’Urban and Smyth streets, Robb Street, and Plaisance.

GangBao’s offerings, particularly its signature sauces, wings, and burgers, have garnered a strong following among locals.

Alisha Trotman, the manager of the D’Urban Street location, shared insights into GangBao’s strategy, noting that the brand aims to elevate the fast food market in Guyana by providing higher quality food than its competitors. “Our goal is to bring something different to the table,” Trotman said. “We focus on delivering not just food, but an experience that leaves our customers satisfied and eager to return.”
