Briton John triumphs in Macedo Memorial Road Race

Briton John won the Open Category of the 22nd Victor Macedo Memorial cycling road race on Sunday

It was the battle of the Johns on Sunday last as the 22nd edition of the Victor Macedo Memorial Cycling Road Race pedalled off along the roadways of the East Coast of Demerara.

However, as has been the case in recent years, it was Briton John who won that battle, as he fended off a strong challenge from Jamual John to triumph and claim the top podium spot in the Open Category of the race.

During the race, which began at the JV Singh and Thomas Street Junctions before heading up to Halfway Tree and coming back to Liliendaal to finish, Briton managed to claim three primes (sprint prizes) of the eight on offer, while Jamual also collected three, with the other two going to Robin Persaud of KFC Evolution.
