Cheong, Thompson excel at Senior Karate Championship

The respective divisional winners and top three finishers pose with their spoils following the conclusion of the Guyana Karate Federation Senior Championship, which was staged at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.

Dimitri Cheong and Allure Thompson were among the standout performers following victories in their respective divisions when the Guyana Karate Federation Senior Championship concluded at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue.

Cheong won the Male 14-17 Kata, relegating Judge Thompson and Jeremy Hargobin to second and third place, respectively. Cheong also prevailed in the Male 14-17 – Kumite – 68Kg section, besting Thompson once more.

In identical fashion, Allure prevailed in the Female Senior Kata division, defeating Alisha Moideen and Keyshia Beaton, who finished second and third, respectively. Allure then prevailed in the Kumite segment, with Beaton and Moideen finishing in second and third apiece.
