On Sunday, September 29, 2024, the Rotaract Club of Georgetown Central in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of University of Guyana and Rotaract Club Corriverton installed the first Mobile Library at the National Park within the Rotary Club of Georgetown Central’s Wellness Space.

The project is in sync with the Rotary Areas of Focus for Basic Education and Literacy as well as Economic and Community Development and seeks to promote reading in open spaces such as parks and other communal spaces, the club said on its Facebook page.

The project also aligns with the theme for September, being dedicated as Education Month.

The Mobile Library was made possible with the support of the Rotary Club of Georgetown Central through Immediate Past President Peter Pompey, his team at BACIF, and everyone who donated books, the club said.
