Trinidad Port Authority: Cargo operations affected by strike action

(Trinidad Guardian) The Port Authority has confirmed its daily operations are being hampered by industrial action being taken by members of staff.

In terms of cargo operations at the Port of Port of Spain, there are no vessel operations and there are minimal deliveries being facilitated at the container terminal, the Authority said in a statement.

It assured, however, that the inter-island ferry has not been disrupted and all its operations are going.

The Port Authority said it is “working assiduously to mitigate continued impact to all stakeholders.”

The airline says it has been engaging in discussions with TTALPA and agreement has been reached on several matters.

It also revealed that the pilots have received their annual increment of up to three percent.
