Tevin Baccus, a 26-year-old fisherman from North Sophia, Georgetown, was nabbed by a Police patrol unit with 31.1 grams of suspected cocaine in his possession.
On October 1, 2024, at about 22:10 hrs, a mobile patrol unit commanded by a Sergeant was in Bel Air, Georgetown, when they observed Baccus standing on the western parapet of the highway, acting in a suspicious manner, the police said in a release.
The ranks stopped to investigate, and the Sergeant, in the presence of the other ranks on patrol, conducted a search of the suspect and discovered a transparent plastic bag containing the cream-coloured substance suspected to be cocaine in the suspect’s left pants pocket.
Baccus was arrested and escorted to the Alberttown Police Station along with the suspected narcotics. At the station, the suspected narcotic was weighed and amounted to 31.1 grams.
The suspect was informed of the offence committed and cautioned accordingly. Baccus was placed in custody pending charges.
