Defending champion Albion dismantled Bush Lot United by 158 runs to progress to the semifinal round of the Berbice Cricket Board U-17 50-Overs Championship at the Jai Hind Cricket Ground.

In a reduced 20-over contest owing to rainfall, Albion, who was inserted after losing the toss, racked up an imposing 204/5 in their allocation. Devin Lalbeharri led the batting effort with an impressive 50. He was supported by the combination of Afraz Budhoo and Nathaniel Ramsammy, who chipped in with 34 runs, respectively.

Supporting with 28 was Dion Setal. In reply, Bush Lot United never threatened the score as they were bundled out for a paltry 46 in 18 overs. C. Ogle was the only batsman to offer resistance with a battling 19, as the majority of the batting lineup fell for single-digit scores.

Spin proved to be the downfall for the Bush Lot United lineup as it accounted for eight wickets. Off-spinner Camesh Seenauth led the bowling effort as he snared impressive figures of 4-7.

He was supported by fellow off-spinner Budhoo, who tallied figures of 2-8, while leg-spinner Fieaz Baksh recorded 2-3.

With the win, Albion will oppose Tucber Park for the place in the final.
