The Guyana Agricultural and General Workers Union (GAWU) refers to Mr. Tony Vieira’s letter appearing in the October 04, 2024 edition of the Kaieteur News. We wish to address one element of the writer’s contentions with respect to contracts with sugar union officials.
We wish to advise that no GAWU official has received any government contract or financial assistance. I am unaware if Mr. Vieira is referring to any official from the other unions in the industry. We trust that this brings clarity to the nonsense raised by Mr. Vieira.
