The 11th Edition of the Courts Optical sponsored Pee Wee U11 Schools Football competition continues today with the third round of group stage matches slated for the Ministry of Education ground.

An exciting mix of matches between primary schools from almost all regions across Guyana is in the offing. All eyes will be on hinterland side Tapakuma Primary as they attempt to seal progression to the knockout rounds with North Georgetown Primary standing in their way.

Having already secured a walkover victory in the first round, they will require a draw or a win to progress for the second consecutive year to the knockouts, a sign of their resilience despite having to travel over four hours on each match day.

Meanwhile, defending champions, West Ruimveldt will clash with Golden Grove and will be looking to signal strong intentions of retaining their title despite a slow start to their campaign.

Also slated for today will be a clash between the private schools as Marian Academy will take on a rampant School of the Nations who have shown ominous form thus far. With both sides unbeaten, they will be looking for bragging rights heading to the next phase of competition.

After today’s play, the round of 16 will commence next Saturday with each team looking to display their title credentials.
