West Bank Demerara Public Rd works projected at $3b

Bids are to be opened on Wednesday October 9th at NPTAB for a number of major road projects including an engineer’s estimate of $3b for the rehabilitation and construction of sections of the West Bank Demerara Public Road.

According to an advertisement from the Ministry of Public Works, other major projects include rehabilitation/construction of Sussex Street to Ceme-tery Road to Mandela Avenue at a projected cost of $1.6b. Another major undertaking will be the rehabilitation/construction of the Conversation Tree Bypass – Phase 2 Western Section, New Alignment with connector to Sheriff St via Garnett and Duncan streets.  These works are projected to cost $1.6b.

Also to be bid for is the Rehabilitation/Construction of the Conversation Tree Bypass – Phase 2 Eastern Section, Dennis St to Sheriff Street with Francois and Enachu Sts. This project is expected to cost $1.51b.

Also on the agenda is the rehabilitation/construction of Carifesta Avenue – Phase 2 for a projected cost of $1.46b.

Rehabilitation/construction of Thomas Lands – Phase 2 is set at $1b. Rehabilitation of Aubrey Barker Road to Ogle to Eccles 4-lane highway phase 6 (lot one) is pegged at $1.9b while rehabilitation/construction of Aubrey Barker Road to Eccles four-lane highway phase 6 (Lot 2) is set at $1.5b.
