Third-placed Crane Rovers were held to a 1-1 stalemate by Wales, who sit four positioned below when the West Demerara Football Association Senior Men’s League continued yesterday at the Uitvlugt Community Centre ground.
Donsford Williams recorded the only conversion of the first half for Crane as he etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 24th minute. However, Wales would earn a share of the spoils in a rather fortuitous manner following the resumption of play, as Crane unfortunately recorded an own goal in the 54th minute.
Due to the outcome, Crane Rovers move onto five points but remain in third place, while Wales climb onto three points but also remain rooted to the seventh position. The event continues today at the same venue with another encounter.
