In a dazzling display of talent and camaraderie, the vibrant music collective Timeless Music Records transformed Black Magenta Restaurant into a pulsating hub of creativity during the highly anticipated ‘It’s About Time’ album launch on September 21st, 2024. The air was thick with excitement as an eclectic array of musicians united, bringing their unique styles to life in an exhilarating performance that left the audience spellbound.
As the sun dipped below the skyline, casting a golden glow over the scene, Black Magenta buzzed with an almost electric vibe. Family, friends, and industry insiders gathered, their hearts in sync with the infectious beats that filled the air. Timeless Music Records, comprising 12 core members and a rotating ensemble of five talented artists, three engineers including Alexander Alphonso, and three directors, dazzled the crowd with an impressive setlist, featuring standout tracks like “Jam,” “Dark Alone,” “Greatest Feeling,” and “Rise Up,” reminiscent of the soulful melodies of R&B sensation Khalid.
As the performance unfolded, featuring a distinctive fusion of reggae and dancehall sounds, each artist took a moment in the spotlight, weaving stories into the rich tapestry of the collective’s sound. “It was crazy out there! At one point, I almost ran off the stage from all the energy,” laughed Quanice ‘Lawva Don’ Lorimer encapsulating the exhilarating atmosphere that had everyone on their feet.
The crowd’s enthusiasm was palpable, with attendees likening the experience to a Khalid concert. “If that’s the vibe you were going for, you nailed it,” one concert-goer exclaimed. Another declared, “It was truly amazing!”
Audience member Vanessa Singh described the performance as “absolutely electrifying,” adding, “every note resonated with pure passion. It felt like we were all part of something special!”
Pride Bacchus, the group’s manager and director, couldn’t contain his excitement: “The team is timeless, and if you visit our studio during a recording session, you’ll understand the brotherly love you saw on that stage. I am super proud of their growth over the past 12 months. Wow, the crowd had me emotional with their cheers. All in all, it was truly a timeless event!”
Reflecting on the evening’s success, Nicholas Alphonso better known as ‘BNick’ emphasised the importance of their performances. “We’re here to show the world our talent, and tonight proved we’re ready to grow our brand and sell more music,” he said, his voice brimming with confidence.
“I’ve played the violin for ten years, and tonight was a dream come true,” exclaimed Akeem Adams, a self-taught virtuoso from Linden who recently joined the team. His bow danced effortlessly across the strings, sending waves of emotion through the audience, who cheered him on, fuelling the spirit of collaboration that defines Timeless.
This celebration was merely the beginning. After the performance, Stabroek News met the team, who engaged in fervent discussions about their future, driven by a shared vision of growth and ambition. Plans are in the works for visually captivating music videos to complement their stellar audio productions. “We’re committed to elevating our visual storytelling,” Stephon Corbin better known as ‘Stehigh’ shared. “It’s about pouring the same passion into our videos that we infuse into our music.”
Henry Elcock, whose stage name is ‘Augustus’ added, “We’re excited to explore more avenues for our sound and reach a wider audience. This is just the beginning of something great for us.”
As they chart their course forward, Timeless is not just focused on enhancing artistry, but aiming for global collaboration, with exciting prospects of teaming up with artists from Jamaica and Trinidad. “This is just the start. We’re thrilled to showcase our music on an international level,” Keeshaun ‘RGK’ Mcbean said, enthusiasm radiating from every word.
“Every performance brings us closer to our dreams,” stated Julian Dookun, Timeless Music Records’ Director and up and coming producer. “We want to be a name that people recognize and love, and tonight was a huge step in that direction.”
The event served as a launchpad for what promises to be a transformative journey for these young musicians. “It’s about working together, helping each other realise our dreams, and inspiring the next generation,” emphasised one of the organisers.
As the night drew to a close, the energy in the room remained charged with the promise of what’s to come. With infectious passion and ambition, Timeless is not just making music, but igniting a movement—a celebration of youth, talent, and the boundless potential of creativity.
