The Demerara Harbour Bridge Corporation (DHBC), under the Ministry of Public Works, has announced an invitation for bids concerning the sale of approximately 200 metric tonnes of scrap metal.
According to an advertisement in this newspaper, tenders are invited for bids to purchase and immediately remove approximately 200 metric tonnes of scrap metal. Interested bidders will have the opportunity to inspect the scrap metal during a site visit scheduled for Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 09:00 hrs. This inspection will take place at the Demerara Harbour Bridge, located in Peter’s Hall, East Bank Demerara.
According to the advertisement, bidders are required to submit their tenders marked “Tender for Scrap Metal – Demerara Harbour Bridge Corporation” in the designated tender box at the Ministry of Public Works, Wight’s Lane, Kingston, Georgetown, before the deadline of Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 09:00 hrs.
The sale of the scrap metal will be conducted on an “as is, where is” basis, meaning that successful bidders must remove the materials within 14 days after being awarded the tender. Furthermore, the ad advised that only licensed scrap dealers are eligible to participate in this bidding process. To ensure compliance with regulations, they must also demonstrate a facility capable of storing the scrap metal, which will be subject to inspection.
